Title IX and Campus SaVE Act Resources

On Sept. 22, 2017, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued a new “Dear Colleague” letter (DCL) withdrawing the 2011 DCL and 2014 Q&A. On the same date, OCR issued a new Q&A guidance. For a summary of key changes in the new Q&A and UE’s recommendations, please read our Insights blog. UE has updated the following online learning programs to reflect the 2017 DCL and Q&A: Mosaic – Prevent Sexual Violence Together.

Additionally, on Sept. 7, 2017, the Department of Education announced plans to enter a notice and comment process to create new regulations to govern federal enforcement of Title IX as it applies to sexual misconduct. These new regulations have not yet been released. In the interim, institutions can use the resources below and the Insights blog for suggestions on preventing and responding to campus sexual misconduct. However, institutions should first consult with legal counsel before making any changes to their policies or practices.
