About This Resource

When creating or revising their nondiscrimination policies and grievance procedures relating to sexual harassment of employees, students and minors, higher education institutions should carefully consider the requirements of all applicable laws — federal, state, and local. Institutions should work with legal counsel to ensure that the content covers crucial information such as to whom the policy applies, the types of conduct that constitute policy violations, and how to report violations. They also must ensure that the policies and procedures are widely publicized and easily available.
