This course informs incoming and first-year college students how to prevent and report sexual assault. It was developed to help institutions meet training obligations under Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act and is meant to complement other prevention efforts at your institution.

On May 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) released final regulations relating to Title IX and its governance of how educational institutions conduct inquiries into allegations of sex discrimination, including student sexual misconduct. As needed, United Educators has updated our courses, including this one, to reflect the requirements of the final regulations.
This course will help learners understand:
- Definitions of sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking
- The “culture of care” at higher educational institutions
- Prevention, including bystander intervention techniques
- How to report and where to go for support
- The meaning of consent
